Comments:
Am I an AI expert? Not exactly.
I may not be a traditional AI expert — but I am becoming an expert in applying AI meaningfully in the coaching world. And that’s where the power of this project really lives.
I am not relying on AI to know everything — I’m using it as a creative and organizational partner. I remain the expert in context and content. That’s the secret to making AI work well. I don’t have a formal background in computer science or artificial intelligence development. I haven’t built algorithms or coded neural networks. But what I do bring is deep expertise in coaching, curriculum design, and the practical challenges of teaching golf to diverse populations — juniors, adults, elite athletes, and players with unique physical or emotional needs.
My strength lies in bridging the gap between AI technology and real-world coaching. I’ve learned how to collaborate with tools like ChatGPT to develop high-quality, customizable, and accessible golf education resources. This project isn’t about me being an AI developer — it’s about being a translator, innovator, and guide, helping coaches use AI to improve their programs, their communication, and ultimately, their impact.
4. Audience
☐ Clearly describes the intended audience.
☐ Audience logically corresponds to the project topic.
Comments:
Primary Audience: Golf Instructors and Coaches
These are professionals who:
Want to improve their lesson planning and curriculum design.
Teach players at various levels — from complete beginners to competitive juniors and adults.
May not have time to build detailed programs from scratch.
Are curious about using AI to improve their teaching but don’t know where to start.
Value tools that save time, provide structure, and allow for personalization.
Think: LPGA and PGA professionals, assistant pros, directors of instruction, youth program leaders, and even newer coaches looking for guidance.
5. Diverse Plan of Study
☐ Includes in-depth, diverse learning experiences.
☐ May incorporate continuing education courses, certifications, books, research articles, practitioner shadowing, and expert interviews.
Comments:
What specifically do you plan to do toward your Capstone Project as it relates to your revised focus? How will this future course work and education support your goal of helping golf professionals use AI in their businesses (assuming this is the direction you narrow your focus toward)? You need to go beyond expanding Chip for your business.
Now that I have been building Chip In for several months, I am focusing on Agentic Prompting. Think of that as learning to ask really good questions, follow up questions to gain depth and clarity, then asking to have the answers delivered in actionable ways to suit the needs of the person asking the question.
As part of my Capstone, I am exploring foundational principles of curriculum design to ensure that the resources I create are instructionally sound, adaptable, and rooted in best practices for golf education.
