A Capstone Project for the LPGA
Helping Golf Professionals Understand and Apply Artificial Intelligence (AI) to Enhance Curriculum Design, Coaching Efficiency, and Student Engagement

Capstone Plan of Study – Revised Focus
My revised Capstone project focuses on helping golf professionals understand and apply artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance curriculum design, coaching efficiency, and student engagement.
While I am not an AI developer, my strength lies in bridging technology with real-world coaching needs. To support this project, I will study AI literacy for educators, curriculum design theory, and data-informed coaching practices.
I will conduct interviews and surveys with LPGA/PGA professionals to identify their challenges and opportunities with AI. Based on this research, I will develop a practical resource toolkit titled “Getting Started with AI in Golf Coaching,” including sample prompts, ethical guidelines, customizable templates, and implementation tips.
A small pilot group of coaches will test this toolkit, and I will gather feedback and case studies to demonstrate impact. My final deliverables will include a research summary, digital toolkit, and video presentation.
This capstone will be designed so that it empowers golf pros to embrace AI confidently and ethically — not to replace their expertise, but to help them teach better, plan smarter, and stay inspired.
Capstone Focus:
Helping golf professionals use AI to enhance curriculum design, coaching efficiency, and student engagement.
Planned Study & Research Activities:
Study AI fundamentals, prompt design, and curriculum theory (using coach-friendly resources, not technical ones).
Learn from real-world use cases in education and sports.
Conduct interviews and surveys with 8–10 LPGA/PGA coaches to identify needs and pain points.
Capstone Deliverables:
Research Summary: What I’ve learned about AI + golf coaching, and what coaches are asking for.
Digital Toolkit: A downloadable, easy-to-use resource for golf coaches with:
Sample lesson plan prompts
Curriculum templates
Tips for using AI ethically and effectively
A “Getting Started” guide for coaches/instructors new to AI
Pilot Program: Test the toolkit with 3–5 coaches/instructors and collect feedback.
Video Presentation: A recorded 4-6 minute walk through of how the toolkit works and what I learned which can be shared with the Masters Professional Team and my peers in our organization.
Outcome:
Create a scalable model that empowers golf pros to embrace AI confidently and ethically — not to replace their expertise, but to help them teach better, plan smarter, and stay inspired.
